Unit 10 I‘m going to be a basketball player (姓名:吴雪云)
语言材料分析:
本节课包含第十单元的1a-1c, 3a-4部分的内容,目的在于通过听说读写的训练活动让学生学习一些有关职业的英文表达方式,掌握如何谈论理想的工作和如何实现理想。
Teaching tasks and aims:
1、 To learn some words of jobs and some verb phrases of expressing how to do that.
2、 To train students‘ abilities of listening, speaking, reading and writing.
3、 Enable the students to realize their dream jobs, and make the resolustions to achieve them.
Teaching key and difficult points:
1、 To grasp the key words and the target language; and freely talk about the dream jobs and how to do that;
2、 To use the structure of “be going to“.
Teaching method: Task-based activities; Cooperative learning.

Step 1 Warming-up
Review the old words to activate the necessary vocabulary; arouse the students‘ interest Greetings: with the activity of brainstorming about jobs, the topic is introduced

Free talk This step can arouse the students‘ interst and prepare for the nest steps.
Step 2 Presentation

Learn the new words, solve the problem of new words, and give the students‘ the language input of the target language Present the pictures, including some famous stars and athletes, the teacher‘s and two of classmates‘. Students compete to guess the job of the people and try to use the target language to ask and answer.

This step makes the preparation for the following activities of listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
Step 3 Listening
Train the students‘ listening ability and note-taking skill.
Play the recorder twice for students. And students match the items in 1b.

Record-er With the presentation of the words and the target language, students will feel easier to do the listening task.

Step 4 Practice

Reproduce the language input Do the pairwork with the target language based on 1c and 3b Co-operative learning method This step is based on the language input, students are able to do the practice.
Step 5 Reading
Train the ability of skimming and scannin and analyzing

Task-
based approa-ch Two tasks are designed for students to understand the reading passage, while finishing two tasks, students‘ understanding is achieved.
Step 6 Application

Give students‘ a chance to practise their writing skill of the target language of “be going to“ Do the job of 4; and students are hoped to write as many sentences as possible with “I am going to...“
